In this role, you will take the lead in managing the financial operations of our national financial services companies, covering accounting, treasury, tax, and cash management. Acting as the financial conscience of the organization, you will ensure strong governance and full compliance with local and international standards.
You will head a dedicated team of seven members based in Sollentuna, working together to support our legal entities in Sweden, Norway, and Denmark, as well as four cooperation markets in Finland and the Baltics. This is a unique opportunity to make a significant impact in a dynamic, international environment while collaborating closely with stakeholders across the region.
Your main responsibilities will be the following:
• Lead and oversee the daily operations of the accounting department, ensuring smooth and efficient processes.
• Drive financial and administrative excellence by securing compliance with local regulations, IFRS standards, and BMW reporting requirements.
• Provide strategic insight by assessing financial impacts and risks linked to business decisions and contractual obligations.
• Ensure accurate and timely monthly and year-end closings, including tax declarations and regulatory reporting for internal and external stakeholders.
• Co-ordinate and manage the relationship with our external auditors in each country.
• Proactively implement process improvements in response to changes in tax legislation.
• Safeguard financial reporting integrity by testing and validating system adjustments and software upgrades.
What should you bring along?
We are looking for a highly skilled finance leader who combines strong technical expertise with excellent leadership and communication skills. You hold a university degree, preferably in Business Administration, Finance, or Management and with around eight years of relevant experience, you have proven your ability to work under pressure, meet tight deadlines, and deliver with accuracy and confidence.
To succeed in this role, you also bring:
• Extensive experience within financial services or the banking industry.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to coach, support, and inspire your team.
• Excellent communication skills, enabling you to work effectively across cultures and in various situations.
• A flexible and proactive mindset, capable of managing multiple tasks independently.
• Fluency in English and at least one Scandinavian language; willingness to travel occasionally.
• Solid analytical and technical skills, particularly in Excel and database analysis; SAP experience is an advantage.
We value individuals who are structured, methodical, and commercially minded, with a strong understanding of financial services or banking. Your personal qualities—such as being a proactive self-starter with very good communication skills—will be key to your success in this role.
