We are now looking for a Head of Group Legal to our headquarters in Lund!

About the job

Alfa Laval is seeking a dynamic and experienced Head of Legal to join our team. This pivotal role reports directly to the Chief Legal Officer, who is a member of the Group Management, and is responsible for leading and developing the legal function across the entire organization. The Alfa Laval Group Legal currently consists of 23 in-house lawyers, located around the world. You will be based at the headquarters in Lund.

Your main responsibilities will include:

• Lead and manage the Legal team, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement as well as of integrity and ethical behavior.
• Create priorities that align strategic direction of the legal department and the overall business objectives.
• Provide expert legal advice and support to senior management and various departments within the company.
• Support the team in providing legal advice and identifying legal risks within all fields of business law, including regarding i.e. commercial contracts, risk assessments, compliance areas (data privacy, trade sanctions and export control, competition law, anti-bribery and anti-corruption).
• Continuously develop adequate key legal processes and policies in the Group.
• Stay updated on relevant legal and regulatory developments and ensure the company´s compliance with new laws and regulations.

Who you are

To succeed in this role, we believe that you have 10+ years of experience from a Legal Counsel/Head of Legal role in an international company or equivalent and experience from leading a team, preferably global. You have strong knowledge of corporate law, regulatory compliance, and risk management. You have experience in drafting, negotiating, and litigating international commercial contracts, including aspects of sales and distribution as well as R&D and intellectual property rights. Experience of working with export control and trade sanctions is desired. Knowledge from relevant industries is also a success factor. You have excellent communication skills in English, verbally and in writing. Proficiency in Swedish is a plus.

You have a strong commercial understanding and pro-actively take initiatives to contribute with your expertise to impact the business. You have excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills. You have strong leadership skills and the ability to clarify priorities and create ownership and accountability. You have a high level of integrity and are confident in your competence and the value you bring as a leader and business partner, but you also possess a curiosity to learn from the team and take on new challenges in this dynamic role. You have the ability to work independently and can quickly analyze complex information and find legally adequate solutions to various situations. You are effective and flexible and adapt positively to change and thrive in a fast-paced environment.

The role may involve international travel from time to time.
